I've been out of the loop for a while on the marketing end of things, and from what I understand text-link-ads was recently (and drastically) penalized on google. So what's the latest consensus on how this affects their publishers/advertisers? Are there any downsides to using them as a link building strategy? What about from a publishers perspective? Is there a chance that publishers using their service would suffer any type of ranking consequences?
