Regarding your blog...what's the first site that you go to? Is it:Your blog, Adsense Reports, Google Analytics, or something else maybe? For me, the very first thing I do is go to Google Analytics and see how many visitors I had the previous day. I love seeing that graph keep going up and up. My blog is 2 months old and gets only about 10-12 uniques a day so I'm hoping that number will soon skyrocket with more listings in blog directories and seeing that I'm finally out of the Google sandbox. Anyway, where's the first place you go?
I always look at "referring sites" in Analytics, I always found that to be the most interesting thing.
Feedburner stats, then analytics, then adsense. I usually have a pretty good idea of my adsense from the the night before.
Same here.. i find tht interesting too.. I also see for search terms and stuffs like tht... then comes adsense and comments...
I check my blog itself first, that way if their are any malfunctions, typos, or new comments I can see them with fresh eyes.
I first of all go for the stats. As my blog is about 6 months old now,i am getting 250 to 350 unique visitors per day.The highest so far being 554 on 26 jan 2008. Most of my traffic is organic (comes from google) thus its really nice to see the effect of various factors on the flow of search traffic to my blog.Like, the day i post ,more traffic comes to my blog.If i post continuously for a week, googlebot visits the blog regularly and my post got indexed within hours just in 3 months of consistent blogging, its got a PR 2 now. & i an still learning
I don't check my stats, until the end of a week because checking them will be throttling my productivity and as morning is the time most inspiration will come in, I will try to jot down the blog post ideas that I have when I am brushing my teeth, bathing or eating my breakfast. The first thing I do after I sat down in front of my laptop will be checking those incomplete blog post drafts that are being saved in my Windows Live Writer.
Great point! I try to adopt the same approach, but inevitably check the stats at some point in the morning. You can fritter away hours mincing around with stats and alike - and it *appears* like you are being productive In particular, I check referrers to see whether I have gained any new significant inbound channels.
Check if the blog is still there !, then go to Feedburner for the stats....then adsense and finally to blogger
I think the very first thing I do is actually check my e-mails to see if people commented, if I got feedback, if any subscribers unsubscribe, etc... then I go straight my blog DatMoney.com and check if my RSS Feed subscribers went up or down (because I have the counter displayed on my blog).
I used to check Google Analytics stats. But it seems they started reporting with delay (2 days!?). I don't know what is going on, and this is pissing me off.
After emails its probably Adsense, Analytics is checked a couple of times a weeks due to the delays. For me I am better writing at night as I struggle to point and click in the mornings. (by the way what time are we talking here?)
