Im just wondering what is your fastest time you got page 1 results on a very competitive keyword. 500,000,000+ results Right now for a keyword with 3 Billion+ results its taken me a little over 2 months and I am on page 6. Been fluctuating between page 6-8 for the past 5 days now. Im pretty happy with my results, hopefully I'll make it to page 1 in another 2 months.
I hit #1 in 3 days in the v7ndotcom contest which was argueably very competitve ... but then again, the word didn't exist in the index before ... so I guess that doesn't really count - see detailed stats with screen shots here. Unfortunately, I'm not doing as well in the carcasherdotcom contest - currently #7 after several months ... so may not win some mula for charity on that one - oh well! ;-)
After 2 years I am the second from 17,500,000. But it is my first site and I never heard of seo before.
ups, "art" is a hard one because is a very "large keyword". maybe You should use more targetted keywords.... "art ....." "..... art'
