What's the fastest you've ever gotten out of the sandbox?

I created a site 3 weeks ago (brand new domain in my signature) and was indexed by Google right away. I had great SERPs after just a couple of weeks and traffic was building. Then overnight it all went away. Call it the "new site boost", the "Google honeymoon" or the dreaded "sandbox" but whatever it is, I now have no traffic from Google. I guess the good news is that based on my initial SERPs my on-site optimization must have been decent. The bad news is I have no traffic.

I plan to just keep going with the site promotion, building good backlinks and adding content. It seems that 6-9 months is the average time it takes to get out of the sandbox but is that true for everyone? Have any of you recovered much more quickly? I hate the being patient part but perhaps it's time to start working on my second site while I wait ;)

I've had sites rank well within 2-3 months, but it depends on how competitive your niche is.

I'm not a believer in the sandbox theory. What I do believe is that new sites have no backlinks which makes it impossible for them to rank. And since many focus only on low quality links, they stay unranked for much longer then have to.

I had the same thing happen to my Team Leader site (in sig), and I'm still working to get it back up. So any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

With Tapco it took about 6 months. My personal site took less than 2.

There really is nothing that you can do to hasten the process. In stead, keep adding content and building backlinks and prepare your site for the post-sandbox era.

Have you considered that a 3 week old site isn't very established in google? lol everyone jumps on the sandbox bandwagon so quickly .

What about I change the domain name if my site is sand boxed? Google sandbox only the domain or also the website's IP?

That's really scary. I'm in sandbox for 2 months now. Some hackers somehow has attached a php script to my site and it produced thousand of links in no time. They were restricted with robot.txt, but at that time I was on the vacation and until I delete the script it was too late. My site is 1.5 years old, and it was well established.

The only good think is that I wasn't banned from big G. For 2 days now things are moving, but very very slow.

I've just gone into the sandbox. Thought I was doing so well and then it's gone. Still indexed in google so guess I'll just work on SEO while I'm waiting.
