There are several easy way to do that.

First, give him the cpanel and admin panel wordpress password. Give him password only if you sold it with the hosting account and it's not shared with your another site.

If you sold only the blog content and design, you can do full backup from cpanel and upload it in the buyer's server.

If you only sold content (database), you can export database from previous wordpress admin area and import in in the new admin area.

    I hope it's help

Upload a fresh installation of WP to the new server but don't install the database, just place the WP files on the server. Make sure it's the same version number you are using. ;)

If it's not, upgrade your version of WP to the latest one before you do this.

(If the new server has Fantastico, then, well, fantastic! You don't have to upload much at all. Just use that to install a new version of WP and drop the database it creates).

Download your database to your own PC.
Download the wp-config file and whatever theme you are using.

Make a new database and new user on the new server.
Using phpmyadmin, import your WP database.

Change the settings on the wp-config file to match the new database settings - dB name, user and p/w - don't forget the prefix.
Upload wp-config, overwriting the one that's there.
    Upload the theme.

Don't forget to give the new owner your WP Admin login name and p/w. ;)

That should be it. Good to go.

try to make a full site backup using the Backup feature in your hosting cPanel and then "Restore" this backup on your other sites, you need to restore the wordpress files and database together.

This is something I want to learn thoroughly before I try selling the blogs I've created.

I have a reseller account with hostgator, which means each blog has its own cPanel. If I sell the blog without hosting, and I'm reasonably sure the buyer can master the transfer himself, do you think that it would be acceptable to give the buyer, say, 2 weeks or 30 days, to complete the transfer, himself?

In other words, would a buyer who is experienced with this sort of thing find this an acceptable procedure?

Nevertheless, I still need to learn how to do the transfer, anyway, as I'm sure there will be some inexperienced buyers out there, too.

You guys are fantastic for sharing this information! Thank you!

Shell commands are the best thing to transfer files. I can transfer 20-30 GB in 20-30 mints. But I will charge you for this.

    Cheers.

Yes, it is acceptable. It really depends on the buyer.

I would recommend you offer to transfer it yourself if the buyer requires it as this can be a good selling point as the buyer doesn't have to worry about it or go through the hassle of doing it themselves.

I've been on both sides and found it reassuring if the seller did the transfer for me since it meant I didn't have to go through the process myself. I've also sold sites and done the transfer myself and I've also provided (and received) cpanel login details to the buyer, depending on their preference.
