Hello, I was just curious, I have read all these different forums stating how to make websites popular, and all of it seems like it is in a different language. I can make websites but nothing to special just basic. I was wondering What is the easiest way for someone who is not a professional by any means to make your website popular on search engines. I would typically never suggest this as a focus in a marketing strategy but if you're using the word "popular" then the best way would probably be through social media. The website has to be extremely useful, fun, informative or content rich also. It has to merit its own "popularity".
Just promote your website. 1) build quality links 2) article submission 3) write blogs 4) you can run advertisement on various magazine and newspaper also.
Do internet promotions like yahoo answers, join social networks, build links to relevant sites. The easiest way but costs a lot and that is Pay per click.
If your site really deserve for being popular i.e. good contents etc. then you may start with social submit like digg.com etc. but it really with good contents.
