What's the different between finding the right product from our cj niche sites and just going straight to the sites like ebay, bestbuy, mlb, etc. Would't it be safer, easier, faster for the visitor who's searching for a product just to go to the main seller instead of surfing through our niche sites?
I think you can take advantage of narrowing a niche with your site. I think if you're lazy and pull just categories then there is no real advantage. But let's say you broke a niche down into subcategories that aren't available at eBay by default, you could be offering a user quicker access to specific sections of a particular niche. Or combining niches based off a theme, where a user could easily get distracted and lost at eBay. Also in regards to your other merchants, you could do price comparisons, reviews, etc. To me it's about giving the visitor some options or better information than just going direct. Just my two cents. Curious what others have to say here. hanji
Thanks, I get your point and it kind of explains what I want to know but I would like to know what others say too.
As an example: People want information. Yes they know bestbuy has the TV they want but they want to know what you have to say about that TV...so they'll read your review and or sales pitch and then they'll even see your link to bestbuy and find it easier to just click that button than to type in bestbuy.com and search for the TV. Of course BestBuy [or selected merchant] is going to say the product is great, but they want to know what someone else has to say to reassure them that this is going to be a worthwhile purchase.
