For some pages, the Google toolbar says there is no pagerank information available, even if the pages are old pages on a site where other pages have a rank. Does this mean the page has a PR of 0 or literally that no PR value has been assigned?
Hello, "No PR" or "gray bar" means Google has not "yet" assigned any page rank to your website. "0 PR" means your page rank stands at "0" and you need to put more effort. But pls pls pls, no body knows the "real" PR except Google. The "green" bar is only exported when Google wants and is pretty outdated. Do an experiment, try to get 10-20 good PR (apparently) links to your website and check to see if your "PR" increases after 2 month!!!! Work on quality link building and care more about your ranking and conversions. Thank you
Thanks for the words Jonathan but don't read too much into the question. I didn't ask "how do I get a non PR0 rank for a website?", I simply asked what was the difference between PR0 and a No Pagerank available. I guess I could rephrase the question - is an unassigned pagerank any different to a PR of 0 at the point in time (give or take a week) when Google exports the PR value to the toolbar? I do experiments all the time but I was hoping to see if someone else had experience I could use.
Its better to have PR 0 than not have PR at all, because if you have PR 0 then atleast Google see's some value in your site, which helps.
