I don't get it. Places are selling cupcakes for $3.50 to $6 each and people are going crazy for them. I see cupcake bakeries in mainstream TV shows, newspapers and magazines. My office bought a bunch from The Cupcakery yesterday. When we heard that we were having some delivered everyone was hyping them up: "They are SOOO good!" "You've got to try them!" "I can't believe you never had one before!" "I buy cupcakes from there 2 or 3 times a week!" Etc etc. So I had one. I sank my teeth into the huge mound of sprinkle covered frosting and think I actually got some cupcake in there. I nearly choked. Might as well pour bag of sugar in my mouth. Was it good? Not really. To be honest, I like plain ol betty crocker frosting that comes in a can MUCH better. I scraped aside some of the frosting so I could actually eat the cake. It was extremely rich. Almost too rich. But nothing incredibly special. Cupcakes are cupcakes. And to pay $5 for just one?! So...what gives?! Why do people fall over these things like they're made with crack?
hmmm... i was unaware of the cupcake craze.... lol but yeah there better be $4.50 baked inside that cupcake if im paying $5 for it!
