What's the cost of changing directory spam code?

Hey,

Anyone know what would be the typical cost of changing the spam code filter to a diff. one?

For example, I have the spam code filter of crazy hard to read letters but would like to change it to something REAL EASY to read so my visitors stop having hard times submitting.

And I do need to put it back on real soon cause too many spammers.

If I do this change i will need to pay someone to do all of it for me.

The question is, will adding the spam code cause less spammers?

If yes, then I really need to do this.

 

Revert back to 2.0 complete NO NO to spam ... no idea abt the next 2.1.2 version!

 

What it means is when you upgrade to the phpLD 3x (instead of your current 2.1 free version) you'll get less spam or none at all even if you don't set the "spam-code" (capcha) You can also have an option on how read-able the "spam codes" you want in the admin panel.

 

How would it get less spam even without the capcha?

Do you, and would you do this type of work (installing it/putting it together)?

I can't tell you how it gets less spam, it just does, virtually no spam at all, just those reciprocal linkers and besides it's worth it to upgrade to the payed version if you are getting serious with your directory.

Installing or updating to the latest version of phpLD is not quite hard, then if you have very little knowledge of this it could be a little challenging.

There are some people who do this kinda service for a fee. If you can't find a reasonable price or they are charging too much. I can do this for you for free on my free time, you'll need to provide me the infos I would need.

A temporary password and username for FTP and cPanel(phpmyadmin)

A lot of the spam you get has nothing to do with the Captcha. The spam is from some type of bot that uses injection to insert the links in the db.

 

Just update to their newer version that should solve the problem.
