"What's the catch here? Why would Google just give away money advertisers are paying them?" Yes, when I started all of these I was thinking the same... The answer... Because Google is very smart. Now that I understand how Adsense works, I can see that it's a win-win situation for everyone involved, and the bottom line benefits Google. Let me explain... Since the advertiser's ads are now being displayed on more web sites all over the internet (instead of just Google's site), they are getting much more exposure. More exposure means more clicks and even more traffic for their site over a shorter period of time. This is good news for Google because the more traffic the advertisers receive, the faster their advertising funds are used up. Remember, they get charged every time their site gets a visit. And of course, it is Google's hope that they'll continue to keep funneling more money into their account for more ad exposure. What an ingenious way for Google to increase the amount of money they earn from advertisers while building loyalty with website owners (like us) who are now getting paid to help them advertise. Of course, I'd expect nothing less from the most popular search engine on the web.
I've had that image saved for months. When I saw this thread I got so happy that I'd finally be able to use it.
Hey Rezo Kudos to you! You’ve obviously done a lot of research in order to discover, so meticulously, exactly what it is that makes Google tick. However, while your post does provide a highly informative insight into the inner workings of Google, I am quite certain that this is information they don’t want to become common knowledge for fear that it will lead to increased competition. Similarly, I am sure that there will be some annoyed publishers here whose income is now at threat due to this info being made public. For the sake of both Google and their loyal publishers please refrain from posting such classified information again!
Sweet Jesus, is my new favorite made up saying. Go ahead a feel free to use it whenever you want. Sweet Jesus!
There is no catch at all. Google doesn't give away their advertising money for nothing. They have so many advertisers that they need a bigger reach of sites to put these advertiser ads on. The more reach they can get the more advertisers that will most probably sign up to Google, meaning more cash for Google.
Yups....google is quite the cash cow. They're using small money to make big money...makes the world go round
Water is that liquid stuff that comes from ice when it melts I think. I am not 100% sure on this so could somebody please clarify if I am right or not.
