What's the big hype with twitter???????????

I don't see the big advancement in technology or uniqueness of the idea of sending your friends/contacts messages aka "tweets". We have been able to do that since the beginning of the internet. Could someone who is not brainwashed and has half a brain please explain? Thanks.

 

I also did not use twitter since a month ago. I always thought not another social networking site. But I was bored for a moment and gave it a try. I usually use it for updates on what I'm doing at the moment and to announce new products, featured products or sales for my websites. It does bring me some traffic. I gained about 100 followers in one month and the number of followers keeps growing. Sometimes you can have just a nice chat or get some good info from somebody you follow.

The problem with twitter is that to many people write the same things over and over again for hours, for days. Some people just try to get as much followers as possible what is not always usefull.

I will keep using it as long it brings traffic to my sites.

 

who wants to know what the average joe is doing day in day out! What are some effective ways to use it to grow traffic?

 

Many people are having a tough time cracking into twitter and for profit, the formula is to connect with people on twitter and be the "cool" guy and give them something of immediate value to them. Then later on when they are no longer on twitter you can sell things to them.

Build trust > Give value > sell value

 

I think twitter is good just for getting traffic to your site.

 

Twitter is getting crappy. I see it's now spammers' heaven. What a tragedy...

 

I will say twitter is now a place over internet where internet marketers can send there messages without any restriction.

No action over SPAM ... some people just made there twitter account for updating their status to spam.

Twitter is very useful to get some traffic instantly. ... Best place to say what you doing at the moment..

 

So you create a twitter account, spend time adding people with intrests that relate to your site and then act like their friends to get them to come to your site?

 

i personally hate twitter but it has done wonders for my online campaigns

 

Twitter is like an instant online press release....I dont think it is meant for people to tell you what they ate for breakfast, but some people do....it is really so u can show something cool to someone else....be4 u know it shit goes viral on twitter.....personally, I hate it and dont get the point, but some people just downright love it

 

I set up an account with twitter yesterday. I cancelled it 10 minutes later.
