I have a small portfolio of roughly 15-20 domain names. What is the best way in your opinion to advertise these for sale? Keep watching forums? eBay? Other Domain Auction sites? Any other ideas?
depends. do you want to sell them FAST or SOON? or, are you buying and selling domains on a regular basis? if you're not in a big hurry - start a small site, or add a DOMAINS FOR SALE page on a existing site you own. if you're in a hurry - sure, try ebay, here, namepros, sitepoint, sedo etc. IMHO
Well, I don't want to hold on to them forever, but I don't want to give them away either. I know some of them have a LOT of potential so I don't want to sell them too cheap just to sell them. But I don't want to price them so high that I hold on to them forever. So I guess I'd say I'm not in a BIG hurry.
I think after reading what you guys have said I'll start a small site and do it that way and sell some along if they aren't selling fast enough. I've got two domain names that should work for a domain reseller site: awesomenames.net urlstore.net Which one would be better for it?
I like the awesomenames.net one. Be sure and promote your page once it is online, maybe link to it in your signature.
I like both of the names but I think I'm going to go with urlstore.net simply because it is shorter. Thanks for all the ideas and input everyone.
If you're not in a total hurry to sell the names, use them to build a site. Write some content, and put some Adsense on the site. Use some free traffic generation techniques to get some traffic to the site. A website making a profit, even only a small profit, will sell for much more than a domain name. Put the sites for sale on a page on youan affiliate product to the Adsense. You can add more content to make thr own site. You are in control. You set the price. You can add advertising for e site more valuable. If you need to sell the site quickly, use the sites for sale section here - no eBay fees.
I see what you're saying. My problem is I just don't have the capital to start doing all of that right now. I understand exactly what you mean. It's like buying a tore up rent house vs. a house ready to move in to. If I could come up with some more cash, I would definately start doing that.
Well Digitalpoint is good... however there are some other too... if you have some money to advertise ... try sitepoint also.
