whats the best way to market a new web hosting company?

    Hi there, i really need some ideas now. There is so many web hosts companys out there i can see it being very hard to just start a new one and hope that its sucsessfull. There is a big market out there but still there is thousands up on thousands of web hosting companys, some big some small. Can any one suggest ways to market a brand new website? Link exchanges, buying high pr backlinks, web hosting directorys (Does any one know of any decent ones?) , any one know of any way that you can get peaple talking about your website hosting company and get word of mouth e.g email marketing,blogs ect.. Article websites? All help would be great.​

    No 1 is the brand, you must have a unique diifferentiator, the brand is the site that you will market, try come up with originality.
    Then follows all the hard work, which must be sustained period, marketing, managing and promoting
    Submissions and all that stuff, good luck:)

    Rather than trying to target the general market focus on a niche. For example, you could provide hosting for musicians. You could offer them a package where they get their own domain, their website designed and hosting. You will then be recognized as an authority when it comes to hosting for artists and they will come to you when they need their own personal website. You are more likely to make money this way rather than pursuing the same customers as the bigger hosting companies.

    As you both have said, i need to offer something a little differant, the artists idea is brilliant. Im wanting to know if there is any hosting directorys i can submit my site too.

    take a risk of $1000 . advertise on ppc network and see how many sales you get for 5000 clicks ? it will let you know how successful hosting idea is ... however competition is huge and only big players can make good money these days who already have big brands (for example an affiliate network starts hosting company) or brand where peoples trust ... why just hosting ? is not it good idea to start your own affiliate network where competition is low comparing to hosting companies ,

    Exactly. Brands help us to make sense of the world and to decide where we fit in it. Consumers view brands as having personalities and prefer those marketing offerings that are similiar to how they see themselves or to the type of person they want to become.
