I'm going to be promoting a new website using web 2.0 sites like hubpages & squidoo & building
baklinks & article marketing targeting a keyword phrase.

I've got some tools at my disposal like se nuke & some other tools
to mass create web 2.0 properties & build backlinks.

I've heard that if you go to fast your site will be sandboxed by
Google how do I keep this from happening for a new site.

Do your SEO naturally and avoid blackhat technique. If you don't break their rule, they don't have any reason to send your blog to sandbox.

Choose the best listings first for your site like business or services listings to let Google and users know you are a legitimate website/company. Make sure too that your site is ready to get indexed, without those inappropriate pages that should not be indexed or just make duplicates on your pages. When you site hit this kind of errors, it will slow down your site indexing.

Sandboxing is all about too many links, to quickly. Stick with slowly building quality links, limiting junk links like blog comments and forum sigs (some are ok, just not a lot) and do your best to get links from trusted sources.
