Hi, A friend has just bought 3 domains and is not planning to build websites with them for around 2 years. He asked me what the best thing to do with these domains was...I have 2 ways of look ing at it: a) Putting a holding page on these and submit to Google Webmaster Tools - this way they are indexed by Google and hold search engine trust when the site finally goes up - HOWEVER, if they are not updated with fresh content would that work against them in 2 years time? b) Simply redirect them to their existing site and don't do anything else. Let me know your thoughts. Mischa.
I guess both the options should be suitable and you can choose either one of them, no worries. I would rather go with the first one, which ever option you choose, he will have to build up the whole site from the scratch after he actually starts working after 2 years. So frankly it doesn't matter now what he does
Park the domain and earn some revenue from it for 2 years... After 2 years it will also have some domain age so it will be easier to flood the site with multitude of backlinks as well.
I'd do a combination of these 2. Park the domain and earn some revenue from it. And while it's parked, put some backlinks out there. You'll earn some money and when you're ready to build the site, you'll already have some backlinks in place.
why should you have to worry about it? just register the domain and pay for it for 1 year then you will be safe for 1 year build the site when ever you want. thanks
