    Hi

I need a programmer to write a Twitter based application, not a significantly big one at all. What's the best way to go about doing it ? Less of an application and more of a webpage plugin...

Before you hire a programmer make sure you exactly write down everything what you need to accomplish in that application, if you can come up with some sort of a complete flowchart of the process...then it is now the time you can start looking for programmers to translate you plan into a reality.

So to hire one, you can post your project either in rentacoder or in forums dot devshed dot com/hire-a-programmer-57/

Also you need to be specific with languages ,if it is web based application to be incorporated in your website, make sure the programming language is compatible with it.

For example, if your website is apache/linux server, you can use PHP language , so in this care you can a hire a PHP developer to work on that project. if it is IIS /or asp net , you can look for asp dot net developers.

    It all depends on :
    a. where do you like to use it
    b. how much is your budget
    c. what the program will accomplish
    d. your time frame and urgency
    e. your trust in that programmer

Hire with experience in Twitter and check his applications...so that you can easily trust his work. just my two cents.

You can go with two options:

    1. Hire someone local and be in touch with them for meeting and sitdown. This option is good because you can make sure your both on the same page.

    2. Hire someone online and make sure you document everything and make sure its all clearly spec'd out. It will be a lot cheaper but sometimes this takes longer to get a finished product because it has to be delevopled a few times.

To find a programmer you could use the buy/sell/trade forums here on DP or maybe give GAF a try, GAF seems like a safer alternative, but it will probably cost you a little more.

check peoples reviews before you hire them
