What's the best way to grow twitter followers?

Is there any software or web based application that can help me grow my twitter followers easily? without manually following them? if there is, what it is? how much it cost? Is it really effective? I heard couple of software out there, but I am not sure about them. Does hummingbird really works?

 

There are numerous threads about people with a large number of followers but are unable to monetize them. Rather than finding ways to gain X thousand random followers, don't you think it would be better to spend the time (and do it manually if need be) to target followers who match what outside services you might be offering?

I have the same problem as you are . I am twitting almost everyday but the problem is I want to make my twitter followers grow ..I have tried adding some and follow some but I just got some followers only. Right now I am doing it manually I am using facebook fanpage wherein members are looking for followers and when you add them they will add you back
