Hey guys i have tried lots of ways to get traffic to my site social bookamrking, stumbles, myspace spamming and more but the traffic always dies and i dont get lots of signups or actions from these techniques, so i would like to know what is the best way to get targeted traffic. IMO the best way is work hard top be high ranked on search engines for keywords with traffic related to your site.
They keyword here is "rank on first page". Organic traffic is the best. Focus more on seo and link building. If possible, try something new or create something unique.
I would suggest article marketing. Write articles and submit them to article directories like ezinearticles.com
promote your site where others of RELEVANT interest are...its up to you to find out where they are (research), then promote in the many ways listed on this forum, in the mktg threads and so on...
Find related blog topic, forum, and etc. After a good research of your demographic target you should be able to have some idea of where to find them online, facebook ads or fanpage is also a good place to find quality traffic.
Tunes, what type of site is it? Dependant upon your site type/niche would depend on how to get the right eyes on it.

One of the best ways, is to run an Adwords campaign, and see where the traffic is coming from, then do some on page and off page SEO targetting the keywords where that traffic came form
