    Hello

i ahve been chatting to a potential client about taking on a contract for his organisations seo which would be woth several hundred thousand dollars.

I have done the usual so far in chatting to them, putting a plan of action together, showing previous work etc. However, i would like to also do something more.

I have asked him to allow me 10 days to work on one page of his site (its a heath site so a page woudl cover a certain niche) and at the end of the 10 days i will be able to back up the references etc with proof in his hand that i can do the job.

What would people consider impressive for 10 days work? the site is aged and is a pr 4 so i have somethign to play with.

I was thinking along the lines of onsite seo and increasing backlinks, article submissions and directory submissions to hopefully greatly improve the ranking of that page for its target keywords.

Any other ideas please on what would help me get this contract - i need something which is both high impact and wil show results fast

    thanks,
    carl

10 days is a very short span to make any impact on any search engine.
I would show him the number of backlinks that you have gotten for him.
With directory submissions, it may take a while to get the site listed so it's going to be tough.

Get some authority backlinks for it, directory and article submissions will have little effect in a short time frame.

would it be worth using some social bookmarking sites too? the site in question is information based rather than sales based

You can try some social media sites, but 10 day's it not a long time to see any worthwhile results. What you submit to the bookmarking sites would almost have to go viral in order to see good results in 10 days. You can try directory submissions, but a lot of them will not be done in 10 days. The search engines won't really pick up on any of the work you are about to put into this one page project because the time frame is just to short. I would say try to extend it to 30 days, but that won't look good to the potential customer in my opinion.

10 days is too short to see the result of your work.. well all i can say is try to exchange links to quality sites, put some sigs in the forum will help and try to subscribe to groups and promote your site.
