What's the best way to build an email list using Twitter?

My main focus is email list building. What is the best way with Twitter?
Send people to interesting articles on my blog and ask for the opt in?
Send people directly to a squeeze page?

 

1 - Get something to offer Twitter users.
2 - Ask them to Tweet your message to their followers.
3 - Then send them the offer to their emails.

I sometimes take about 30 minutes within every two days or so, and I would look for direct people within a niche. I.E. I am into digital art, fitness&health, marketing. I would then follow them and add them to my twitter list. Next I would send them a personal message, not a robot message. People will respect you more for the time you give to them. Always ask them to follow you and tell them you are following them. Give them something they can value for. I always PM people who I want to connect with.

The personal approach will always be more beneficial, rather than automation.

 

Offer your audience something free and interesting like an informative ebook. Get them to retweet your message if they enjoyed your free ebook/offer.

 

Also, retweet other people's tweets. They will like the exposure and will usually retweet something of yours in return!
