i am sorry for this noob question, but i have a great site idea and getting the resources to build and have it ready. The question is, how would i get affiliates like you guys to see my site and start promoting it? I have an idea to setup a site, very good recurring model payouts. non adult and works great with quality traffic. what are some good resources / forums i should hit up and promote my site once its up?
I am also keen to learn more about the best channels to promote an affiliate program independant of the major affiliate systems. We are retailing Australian herbs and spices and our affiliate system can be found here http://www.dining-downunder.com/idevaffiliate Cheers Benjamin
Well, as you said, get on related forums, pay for some advertising, publish articles about affiliate marketing, do PPC, SEO and all the other marketing tactics; it's not much different than selling a product;
Writing articles jampacked with content (information, that is) does go a long way, because there are visitors who come looking for information (on forums, reading articles, visiting search engines). For that matter, you could be doing some keyword research and writing articles which are search engine optimised. While offline, it is the location of the business that is important, online, information plays a similar role in attracting visitors.
Yep. One of the most popular ways affiliates find programs is by searching Google for furniture affiliate program or car affiliate program or games affiliate programs. So Adwords can be a good way to recruit affiliates. Since I do recruiting for about 50 affiliate programs I just buy all the KW affiliate program phrases that apply to the programs I promote. That's just a part of my recruiting strategy. I do lots of other advertising and of course post in lots of forums as well. I just blogged today about a HUGE affiliate manager training course that is almost ready to launch. http://affiliate-blogs.5staraffiliateprograms.com/2006/06/17/affiliate-manager-training-classes/ They are giving away a free report about how to optimize your affiliate strategy and there is also a free pod cast on how to recruit that shares a pretty good tip about using a Yahoo trick to recruit affiliates. Hope this helps and best of luck!
What's the best strategy.. ? For $50 you can have a paid announcement at the biggest affiliate marketing forum on the internet, abestweb. But make sure the program is ready to go.
What's worked for us is to develop a consistent communications message and target industry specific forums (like this one), affiliate directories and blogs. PPC can work but again, it's one of the things you can do to build awareness of your program. In forums, you need to consistently participate and build relationships within them in order to build your affiliate-base. Hope this helps, Susan
Adwords is the easies way to do it without a site. You just have to do the research and monitor your campain closely.
Also, adding relevant links to quality sites from keywords in your article helps your search engine rating. I don't mean advertising links, but links whcih help visiters find more information.
for the long term only organic seo, forum posting, youtube, facebook and twitter is only temporary you will get lots of visitors but only for few days. with organic seo it is more stable
