What's the Best Way in Editing My Wordpress Template?

    I found a wordpress template that I like but I need to make some changes. I would upload it to my site but I do not what my editing to be seen by my visitors.... :confused: :confused: What's the best way for me to edit the template?

    add a page called index.html saying your site is under construction or something

    I'm sure the wordpress thing the poster above mentioned would like nicer though

    I think the best way is my way.

    1. Have an ofline web dev enviroment, where I have installed wordpress.
    2. Use an html editor that offers you to edit thinks online through FTP access.

    I have a site that I use for development only - if I'm making big changes this is the site I use. It's not indexed in the search engines and I can make changes to my hearts content. I can leave the change up for a day or so to make sure I like the change.

    just set up word press in another folder
    called test
    or some thingand test on it
