I wanted to see what tool most people use to check their website's stats / daily unique visitors. So what's the best?

yeah its the shit, though ive had some fishy results.. such as the sources lists google as referring a lot of organic traffic.. my site barely shows up in organic traffic, its recording paid ads from itself as organic which is just silly. The goals system is helping me gain a better understanding of my site's conversion rate though.

I use awstats. Have been using statcounter recently and it seems pretty decent. With statcounter and Google Analytics etc.(I have analytics account), it is a pain to integrate their code into my site pages etc.

Depends how much money you have, if you got none, AWStats or Google Analytics,

If you have a decent income, Clicktracks,

If you have lots, Websidestory & webtrends.

However I prefer the javascript based tracking ones than weblogs
