Hi everyone, I was wondering what is the best software to design logos with? I've heard a lot about adobe illustrator and corelDRAW but is there any other software that compares to those that also works on macs? Also i have photoshop. In your opinion is that good enough to create good logos or does it limit you?
Well, it depends. If you look at the site in my signature you'll see a photoshop-made logo (or at least text with a gradient). It looks ok, nothing special, though. If you really want a profesisonal logo I'd recommend you to use a vector-based program like adobe illustrator. It's pretty similair to photoshop as it is made by the same company. There are tons of tutorials on it too.
Hi, as a graphic design student, I am finding out that Adobe Illustrator is the better way to go to create a TEXT logo, but if you want a photo logo with text, i would suggest using photoshop for the photo tweaking, and Illustrator for the Text part, you can combine the two of them and use them together. Just do you image in PS and then import it using Bridge, or just import it directly into Illustrator, and then put your text portion on top, and save and viola there you go. Just a suggestion though Autumn
Yes adobe illustrator is the way to go. Years ago Mac was always thought to be better for one simple fact..all the graphics software was designed for Mac. The software companies got smart and started designing for both. Ok and before Mac users bash me...I use both but can't really tell you why. I think it's cuz I don't like meatloaf every night..lol
Well If you want to be a pro use Photoshop or Illustrator, you can use free programs or software or even online genrators
Although I'm a hardcore Illustrator user (and I am happy to endorse it whenever I can), you might want to give Corel Draw a look too. I use that occasionally, and I must say that it's a viable alternative to Illustrator.
I would definitely prefer Illustrator over Coreldraw for freehand and free-flowing logo designs... however, for more precise and technical logos (such as industrial logos) Coreldraw is better in my opinion...
Illustrator for vector desgins. Photoshop for all other design and fireworks is pretty good for webdesign.
I am a big CorelDRAW fan instead of Illustrator. Yes, this makes me part of the minority. But I can just get more done with fewer problems with CorelDRAW. Billy
I use photoshop for designing, but if you need to create a logo that will be used for big banners as well as for small bussiness cards, then you have to design it using vectors, then you should opt for illustrator or corel
Illustrator is always better for designing logos because of its simple and easy vector design tool. Well, if one would like to have it with ease online, then AAA logo creator is also not bad, but has limitations.
