I'm trying to find a site that has wordpress themes that also has a rating system or user reviews to find out it the them is any good.
http://themeforest.net/category/wordpress Look no further. Hands down the nicest templates around for WP and they all have totally tricked out admin panels to manage the template as well. Several levels of vetting or quality control before it gets published and each template has support in the comments by the author. That place rocks. Nigel
Most review sites are just excuses for affiliate programs. The best way to find out about a theme is to visit it's support page, or read comments about it, where it is downloaded. There's 1000 themes out there and tons of theme makers. There is no one source to find reviews for every theme. If you go to a review site, you will likely only find themes that the site sells. Like Nigel say's, at themeforest you can at least see what people say about each theme honestly in the support comments.
I've tried a lot of "review" plugins and themes, but to me it seems that you need to pay to have a plug in with all of the bells and whistles that you would expect from a standard review site. There are a ton of really good review plug ins, it's just that they will cost you about $75-90 for a lifetime license.
Try to use Review Engine: http://www.dailywp.com/review-engine-theme/ Demo: http://www.dailywp.com/demo/reviewengine/
Oh! I'm very sorry. I only want to marketing my product so I read his post too fast! Anyway, I have another site: www.powerfulthemes.com It's a review theme site but it's still building, not yet finish ( I use Review Engine to develop it ). Sorry again about previous post, I think this website is good for review theme: www.bestwpthemes.com
Criminey. You point something out to a guy, and he uses it to pump more unrelated links into the thread. Sheesh. The link whoring around here is atrocious.
Well, web2feel.com has some nice free wordpress themes, i didnt do that a link, so it isnt considered spam.
I picked this one that is widget ready http://www.topblogformula.com/wordpress-business-themes/intrepidity
Now, Ithave many site supply about wordpress theme, but if you have a review engine theme, i think that it only have some good site. I bought this kind theme by dailywp last month, maybe it's good theme (to me) because i also refered many theme ago.
I don't know if you're looking for free or commercial themes. If commercial ("premium") then I can tell you I did a lot of research on "search engines" for premium themes and I didn't find anything stellar with ratings or reviews. If anybody knows otherwise I'd love to know. I started ThemeSorter this month and it allows for star ratings and comments for themes but since the site is new there is not a whole lot of user feedback yet. If you find yourself asking the same question in a few months you may want to look at it.
Most theme review sites are just an excuse to sell themes under affiliate links, or are traps that offer premium themes for free (illegally) that are loaded with malicious software... and rarely have any honest feedback. If you want to know if people like a certain theme of theme maker, go to their website and read the feedback, and forums to get an overall view of how people feel about it and how good the support is. Just go to the source. @Steven, If yours is going to be different, then I applaud you and wish you tons of luck for success in having a real theme review site that is actually trustworthy.
@Steve - I second hmansfield's applaud. It is kind of scary how much bad stuff is out there, and there is no way to really stop it. About all we can do is educate the people who want to learn, and pray for the ones that don't. As for ThemeSorter, I think it is going to be a long road ahead. Soliciting reviews from anonymous sources has its cons. Perhaps you can trust a few people to do some Expert Reviews on some themes to supplement the User Reviews. One thing a review site is not really capable of is breaking down what is good or bad about the theme. For instance, themes all look nice and pretty on the outside, but when you get down into the code to rework for a client -- then it becomes a little more clear on how well the author knows WordPress. I have seen some horrendously coded premium themes and wonder WTF!
