You need to start by selecting your keywords and adding meta tags.

Then you can start to submitting it to directories, building relationships with other forum webmasters, advertising etc.

And be patient. SEO requieres more patience than knowledge.

    Hi,

Have you tried using banner advertising? You can easily create your own banner or get someone else to create one for you and use a company like AdBright to get others to distribute it via a CPA network. The beauty of that is that you only pay out on results so there's no capital leakage.

If you're in the US then you could also try MySpace for highly targeted traffic. Again this is cheap and very targeted traffic. You can choose who sees your banner e.g males, aged 18 - 45, living in USA, Uk etc

It's not an SEO solution as there's no quick fix where SEO's concerned but it's a possible solution to getting maximum exposure for the least money :)

    Hope this helps,

    Nicola

    1. Directory Submission – it is useful if the directory has quality links and doesn't contain bad links. Check out my list of directories.

    2. Forums Posting – links from other quality forums are ok but it's better if you will get links from related forums.

    3. Blog Commenting – when I do blog commenting I make sure that the blog is related to my site.

    4. Submission to Bookmarking Site – make sure that you don't spam the bookmarking site with lots of submission links from your site. Remember you need permanent link if you spam them, your link/account will get deleted. Check out my list of bookmarking site.

    5. Yahoo Answer Posting – useful for frequently crawling of search engine.

    6. Submission to Niche Directory – it's good to get links from niche directory. It adds value to your link relevancy.

    7. Article Submission – it doesn't give high traffic but the keywords that is use as anchor text in article content helps to improved SERP.

    8. Press Release Submission – like article the keywords in anchor text helps in SERP and also helps for promotional campaign.

    9. Blog Post – if you have blog for the site that you were optimizing and has related blog post with keywords on content linking to your site, the keywords that you use as anchor text will help your site improved rankings. It also give traffic to your site.

I disagree. I think that it requires a ton of patience and a ton of knowledge. To be any good at what you do, anyway. It's alwasy changing, so you also have to stay current with all events and news in the field.

I agree, there are so many different ways to SEO your site that knowledge is just as key as time, search engines are always changing the way they index sites so keeping yourself up to date is very important.

SEO though doesn't happen overnight, it takes a heck of a lot of time to build and SEO a decent site and even longer to keep it at that level.

I guess that explains a lot.

Too often I see backlinks as the main thing to do.
There is so very much more than this to SEO.

The fact is if you have good content and something that people want, your backlinks will grow naturally. The extra that you do to get more back links is icing on the cake.
Site Navigation, title, content, constant updates, proper coding, on site SEO, and 1,000 other factors come into play.....not just backlinks.

You need a quality blog or site. As you generate traffic, you'll send more and more people to the forum. And the more active the forum gets, the more active it gets. Also, you have way too many categories in that forum.

Do well On-page & Off-page Optimization. You can get more traffic with a high PR or any strong back link. Based on my experience, i just gather some quality links then i got good position at Google right away.

    You need to go for Advertising. As your website is a forum, you should immediately start posting quality threads and hire people to post quality threads. Do it in 2 parts;
1> Find Keywords to be optimised for SEO later and put content around the Keywords ( Will help in SEO)
2> Start Banner Advertising with CPA. You will be required to pay some money but it will really pay up in long run!

    thanks,
    Naina
