e-Books are a waste if you ask me. Hire someone to do an SEO analysis of your site. Your better off, you can see my signature if interested. Remember, an e-Book can be years old and contain out dated or even incorrect information.
Well, I know that ebooks can't possibly teach you everything, but I'm a noob when it comes to SEO (except for the most basic concepts like PR, link building, do follow and no follow, ...) and I want to learn a little more before subscribing to SEObook or Seomoz
More or less an example of what happens when I get into a writing fit after getting ticked off at stupid reply after stupid reply after stupid reply to a thread. That, and it's also starting to show its age. I really need to gather my notes, get them organized and crack down on writing the second edition of that (which will be as comprehensive as possible while also remaining relevant until at least HTML 5 comes out in a decade or two).
then you know everything already- SEObook just tells you these basic things but takes ALOT of pages to do so. Very good for people who want to feel like they are learning something. however I found it better slated for my mother to read. There are no secrets or magic juice inside. all you need to know about SEO -dont use flash -use title, keyword meta tags -have good linking structure and know how to use robots and when to no-follow -position indexable text so it loads first -use strong tags on keywords -write a page with keywords in mind -get inbound links with the keywords as anchor text -but dont overdo it and spread the links over time and have variety Thats all you ever need to know - any other info you need can be found free here on DP. However if you want to pay me lots of $$$ to optimize your site, I would be happy to take your money.
lol, thanks. So basically you're saying that paying $100 a month for SEObook is not going to help at all? (if that's the case, thank god because I don't feel like spending $12,000 for a year ) Anyways, thanks for the recommendations. I'll take a look at SEO for dummies, though.
Or you can read my SEO threads (look in my signature - one of my threads comes with a free sample layout you can use for your own Web site - no attribution required) as well as the Search Enigne Optimization FAQ [link: sitepoint.com] and Chris Beasley's SEO Guide [link: websitepublisher.net] and save yourself the money.
Here is a great site to get info on SEO and get the ebook. I started reading it for work and it's great! Hope it helps http://www.seobook.com/archives/cat_aaron_matthew_wall.shtml
Well, I was talking about not using that site, actually. $100 a month is too much for me, even if I had the money.
Well the SEO book is thick I can say that much - it says lots of interesting things - but there is no secrets or special sauce- its mainly a well organized version of all the information you see here on DP and other fourms. So understand that you are paying for the organization not the secrets.
I won't suggest any eBooks as it contains so hard seo slung terms that newbie can not understand, and as Ssandecki told you, "it's just the waste of time".
why to pay for services that are free of cost? search online and you will get a lot of free stuff to gain knowledge from
Well you can always read all the threads on dp and get your knowledge on SEO up or just get SEObook its a good ebook that helps out alot to noobies trying to learn SEO.
