    Hey guys,
What's the best on screen recording software for making those video tutorials?
I can see some videos zoom on section of a page and blur out the other sections.. etc.

And example of such video is right here.. (the first video)

Okay, I found a 30 day fully working trial on the official site.
Will try it for good and if works, I'll buy it.

I usually use "print screen" key to record screen and use photoshop to cut it.

http://www.camstudio.org/ It's free and open source.

I'm not sure if it can do background blur, but it CAN do "follow the mouse". And it's FREE FREE FREE.

I used CamStudio for my 3~4 videos. The output quality is poor and it also don't have some of the features I want.

Have you tried adjusting the codec, compression levels, key frames, etc ?
I honestly think it's worth another look. I use it all the time, and have never had a problem with the quality of the output file.

Camtasia is very versatile - you can even output to Mp3 or Mv4 for use on iPODS and iPHONES. The other advantage of Camtasia, is a HUGE braintrust of users...you can always find help on their forum.

Tried the freebies and finally broke down and bought Camtasia. I'll never go back to the freebies. I save so much time with Camtasia and I make more money when I spend less time on making the videos.
