What's the best reason for not believing in god?

Providing this god had a better grasp of logic than the vast majority of it's followers my "excuse" would be "you provided me with insufficient evidence".

 

These concepts are entirely consistent. Let me explain it to you in simple terms:

#1 I believe that whatever God is, is so far beyond our conception that anything that we may dream up to explain God is so far from reality as to be laughable.

#2 Thus I believe the concept of believing that God is a "man in the sky" is laughable. It's as laughable to me as Zeus or any other sort of mythological BS. It's obviously a God created in the image of man. The God of organized western religion is a mythological creation. I think thinking of the concept of God in these kind of simple terms is very small minded. That's what bugs me about it. I feel like it's all a fairy tale game they're playing. They don't seem to have any real desire to seek the truth about reality (which is essentially the search for "God.")

How can you speak for everyone? Maybe some people are a lot smarter than you, or closer to God. Just because you can't conceive of an appropriate image of God does not mean everyone else can't either. You should not use your personal limitations to limit your understanding of what others might be capable of.

Lastly, don't you think an omnipotent God could make people think he appeared to them as a man? You are putting your own limitations on the fairy tale. Anything is possible when making shit up.
