Hello everyone, I just got into PPC advertising. Before I give google any money I want to learn more about it. I was wondering if anyone on this forum has had any success making money with this. Thanks
Start out by reading all the fundamentals in the Adwords learning center. Watch the video explanations on YouTube (Google Business Channel) And only then, when you feel comfortable enough with the whole thing start out with a low budget and see how it's really like. There is no better way to learn than to try it yourself
Personally, I haven't had too much success with my PPC advertising attempts. I had pretty great (and now I fear naive) expectations for the exposure/traffic/sales increases I get using Adwords. I may not be the best to answer this as I often feel as though I'm just dumping money into the machine without getting anything in return...
I have helped run many AdWords accounts that have been very successful. My advice would be to be very careful with affiliate advertising because Google will hold you responsible for any site you advertise. 2, new accounts can usually qualify for a credit voucher to help get started, so start with a small budget and a small target area. Experiment a little, until you start getting the results you need, then expand your budget and target area to make more profit. Lack of patience is the biggest reason I see for failing with AdWords. Of course it helps to advertise a good product or service.
It pays to do a little keyword research. You should think about your niche, go to the Google Keyword tool, and throw what you think is the most relevant keyword into it. Put the search filter onto "exact match". See what kind of competition you've got and how much traffic per month, globally that keyword is getting.
