What do you use ? and when do you use it ??

I've built a collection of ebooks that I'm looking to give away as return for people opt'ing into my list.

At present I've just been using the form on the side bar, and by driving people directly to the page itself.

I'm thinking of putting an Opt in Pop up on whatever the "entry page" is to try and entice more users.

Just wondered, what are you experiences / thoughts on Opt in Pop Ups ?

If you have / do you use them whats the best plugin you use ??

I like Aweber to collect the 'list' information (names, emails etc) and they provide really good Opt-in forms/templates........that you manipulate yourself to how you want it to look. Then you get the raw html code and place it in a text widget on your sidebar of you apperance settings (if you are using wordpress). The best thing about Aweber as well is how you can set up your follow-up messages and the sending out of your e-books etc......Up to you though there are many good opt-in plugins out there 'Newletter Manager' or 'WP Opt-in'. Good luck :)

I've heard weird things about MailChimp, though. They'll ban you if they think you are sending affiliate links using their service. (Not that I'd do that, but a lot of people seem to do so.)

I like the simplicity and un-obtrusive-ness (???) of TheTheFly Sliding Panels. It can do "pop-ups" - it calls "Modal Windows" - but it also does panels that automatically slide in from any of the four sides of the screen. It's not as in-your-face as some of the others I've seen.

take a look at OptimizePress. OptimizePress is a WordPress Theme, not a plugin.
