Hey guys... I was just curious on your input. I've seen more and more folks of late link their videos, articles, and other types of content with anchor text to different forums. Here's an example.... Let's say "dog training" is the anchor text I'm using to link back to a video at YouTube.com/dogtraining12345 .... Now, let's say I target 50 forums in the same niche (or random forums), trying to achieve a solid backlink from each. Does Google place more weight on linking actual content pieces (vids, PR's articles, etc..) with keyword anchor text, as opposed to simply having the anchor text link to your website dogtraining12345.com? Does Google view all forums as authority sites? It appears like if you want to get your video on the first page of Google, views aside, having a boatload of forum links to that video is one of the best things you can do. I ask because I've been reverse engineering in a few places and people are getting videos and articles are on the 1st pages of Google in super competitive markets. This seems to be their tactic. Thanks
