aj classifieds is very good. Other scripts you can check out can be found in http:// opensourcecms.com.
Craigslist is custom in-house made so an exact same type can be hard to find

$299 for user license for 1 domain? Is it typical?

I am sure there are a lot of crappy scripts out there....It would be typical for a company that
wants to stay in business to charge $300 for a single domain, but I would never buy anything
from them again...sometime back I bought a script from them - It was crap, and buggy,
and once I asked for a refund, their attitude changed to not giving a refund, and I had
to get the refund the hard way, and it took about 2-3 months to get my money back....
They sure want to sell to you, but if something goes wrong, dont think they will be refund friendly....
AJ is not refund friendly at all....

I do not know anything about AJ Classifieds...
however, last I heard, their classifieds was $1000

I just did a quick read up on their prices, just so you know, for $299,
you get no upgrades, and their code is encrypted for that version.
with that alone, I would certainly pass. The enterprise is $2499.
