The problem with wordpress is that you have to pay a fee if you want to add google adsense ads.

Not if you're hosting it yourself. I think you're talking about the hosted blogs on the Wordpress.com domain, not the software itself which is at wordpress.org.

WordPress rules yeah... I mean, you've got complete control of the template if you are hosting it yourself, there is an MU version, the support is wonderful, and there are tonnes and tonnes of plugins.

I like blogger.com and I think you can add a spell checker.

Good thing about Firefox 2 is the built in spell checker. I was waiting for Wordpress to release the spell checker for default installs (I think they offer a spell checker on the hosted blogs), but since FF2 has come out, I don't think there'd be much need :)

My vote is for Wordpress as well, but haven't really played with any of the others that much.

If you are looking for a hosted blogging site, use wordpress at Wordpress.org is best.

If you are looking for free blogs, beta.blogger.com.

If you are doing blog community, much like blogfeast.net, Drupal is best.

WordPress is extremely extensible. It's easy to create your own templates, and technically you could even use it for a simple CMS

Or use serendipity and download and install plugins and themes straight from your blog admin control panel.
