It will probably come down to personal preference, but I much prefer Photoshop (mainly because of the layer handling) and vector object tools. However, Illustrator is the better tool for logos.
Photoshop is for bit map, while Firework is for bit map and vector images. Personally, I think photoshop is more humanized. More people know about photoshop than firework, so books about photoshop are more than firework.
They are very simmilar, but there are a few things that one can do that the other can. It all depends on what your needs are...
I prefer using Adobe illustrator, because it is vector based. By vector it can be very high resolution, also there is very lot effect in AI.
I'm using adobe Photoshop for last 2 years so i'll go with Photoshop only, didn't have any idea about illustrator.
If you're editing/manipulating photos [bitmaps] - use Photoshop (the clue is in the name) If you're going to be drawing/creating objects from scratch [vectors] - Illustrator If you need a combination of the two - [bitmaps + vectors] i.e creating user interfaces/website design - Fireworks At the end of the day though just use what you're most comfortable with. I use Fireworks and it's a fantastic bit of software. Don't knock it until you've tried it !
the bost for make a logo its must be firework or ilustrator, but if you want to editing photo its photoshop is the best
