    Hello Friends

My main motive behind starting this thread is to know the different opinions of people regarding copy writing and content writing as many people get confused between the two words. It has often been see that copy writing work are usually high paid as compared to content writing. Why is it so?

Secondly what copy writing encompasses? Content writing can involve writing for print and web media, Does copywriting involves writing for broadcast media?

All your suggestions and opinions will be highly appreciated

Content writers write articles and blog posts - content for your website.

Copywriters write sales letters, business letters, sales copy, etc. Persuasive stuff that sells your product or service. Copywriters sell the stuff that content writers produce if you want to think about it that way.

Copywriters are paid more because it's their job to make you more money. In addition they're usually hired on a project by project basis.

Content writers are usually hired reoccurring.

Copywriting involves writing for whatever will sell your product. Online and offline copywriting services exist. It involves learning about the product, the company, the audience, and the person who hired them. Copy writing is usually a longer, much more involved process than content writing.

Content writing is straight forward article writing. Easier than copywriting.

Copywriting involves a lot more imagination, analysis and involvement to make sure the writing is persuasive enough to make sales.

Please search before asking questions. This has been answered numerous times on the forum already (so I'm going to close the thread).

    In short though:

Content writers write to inform, educate, or entertain.

Copywriters write to influence or persuade (it doesn't always mean bringing in more sales though -- it can also be about getting people to think or feel a certain way about a company or issue).
