I am just wondering what was so special in the Beatles music, what was the reason that they became so popular and world is still crazy for their music.
It really depends on your type of music to like them...maybe your desensitized to oldies music What made them popular was their type of music "rock" which was the emerging genre of music back in the late 50s until the mid 60s. they also made movies, so I think that kicked off beatle mania along with the new music.
Well, i'd say this...: http://youtube.com/watch?v=faVTixv81IQ (give it a second to start) They were fantastic
It has been said that everyone that watched the Beatles on the Ed Sullivan show immediately started a band. Some reasons why The Beatles are special: 1. They were certainly not the first musicians to write their own music (eg. Buddy Holly wrote his songs), but before The Beatles, it was common for pop musicians to get other people to write their music. For example, Elvis Presley didn't write his own music. A lot of fans admire this about The Beatles. 2. They were the first to use guitar feedback in their recording (eg. beginning of "I Feel Fine"). 3. They were the first rock musicians to use a string quartet to play backup to their recording (eg. "Yesterday"). 4. They were the first musicians to feature backwards vocals and lyrics in their recordings. This is where you play the record backwards in order to hear the words correctly. Later on, musicians such as Ozzy Ozborne and Judas Priest utilized this technique, but people started to associate it with devil worship and hidden evil messages. 5. Due to their success, they were given unlimited studio time. This allowed them to be the first band to experiment during their recording sessions. They would try out new stuff and take advantage of mistakes (eg. the guitar feedback at the beginning of "I Feel Fine). That is why there are so many "lost beatles tracks" and "sessions tracks", because they used the studio to test stuff out. 6. First to use sampling and use of sound effects in their music (eg. "Being for the Benefit of Mr. Kite). Bands have gone crazy with this technique. For example, just listen to Pink Floyd and their songs are filled with sampling of laughter, clocks ticking, televisions playing in the background, etc. 7. Prior to the Beatles, record albums were not as important as singles. Albums contained a large amount of "filler" material (unexceptional songs) along with one or two hit songs. 8. Music Videos. In the mid-1960s, the Beatles began filming promotional music videos for their songs, which they sent to television networks in lieu of appearing in person. Now all musicians create music videos for their hit songs. 9. The Beatles were the first entertainment act to stage a large stadium concert. 10. Not something to brag about, but they highly influenced "Recreational Drug Use". Before The Beatles, drugs like marijuana were associated with real low-lifes or shady characters. (Trivial Fact: Bob Dylan was the one who introduced The Beatles to marijuana). 11. They had a huge influence on album cover artwork. Before The Beatles, most album covers just showed the musicians posing for a picture. Some of the musicians that were inspired by The Beatles: Everclear, The Brodsky Quartet, MxPx, Phil Collins, Peter Gabriel, Genesis, King's X, Jerry Garcia, Elvis Costello, Brian Wilson, Neil Diamond, Rush, Jimi Hendrix, Skid Row, Buddy Miller, Alice Cooper, Jeff Lynne and ELO, Rich Mullins, Kiss, Nirvana, Los Lobos, Queensrieche, Guns n' Roses, Moxy Fruvous, and Run DMC.
