Hey.. I'm just curious... I'm considering using RSS feeds on my sites and I just wanted to know...

Do you use unique content for your blogs or do you use RSS feeds to create your content?
Do you think that using somone elses RSS Feeds is stealing?

    Please provide links :) Thanks

It seems you are planning to create RSS feed for the static content for your webpages (like regular news post etc.) Well if you are looking for that answer, then yes you can have RSS feeds, some xml tools might help you to create RSS feeds.

However, people who are blogging are using tools such as wordpress, b2evolution or joomla for writing content and these tools are creating RSS feeds out of the content or posts written by bloggers.

You should subscribe to a feed rather then put it on your website, it is better you have your own RSS feed and people subscribe to it....well this is what web 2.0 is all about these days...may be some one here would be able to add more on this........

I prefer to use my own content rather than use someone elses. Using someones RSS feed isn't stealing, as they are making it public to other people, so therefore its free to use. Most won't mind their RSS feeds being used as it gives their site backlinks.

Actually I've been seeing a bunch of software for wordpress on here and online about ways to take single feed and place it on your blog in a plugin and have that as your content I think it is static. To me it seems dishonest.. and like stealing.. since it's someone eles's content and you're just adding it to your site and claiming it as yours. My worry is that if I supply my vistors with an RSS Feed to subscribe to my site with.. that some will steal it and clam it as their own on their site. then my content will not longer be "unique".

    You know what I mean?

I know what you mean, but the site that is using your feeds will be giving you backlinks so it could be a good thing in the long run.

If you want to be successful, create your own content.

Using someone else's RSS feed without giving credit to them is stealing. Just because someone has an RSS feed does not imply that it is free to use for another site to post as their own.

Yeah and if you redirect your feed to Feedburner, they will not be able to copy your entire content.

I know some sites use RSS feeds from other sites. but they link back to the original source. you can't just use their content without their permission.

Content is king no one will visit you if you post it late , if you have something special knowledge inside you post that knowledge dude believe me you will get more success by that and in last if you want to get soon famous than create a controversy post and let others know what they think . :)

yeppsie! Content sure is the King Supreme! I use absolutely all unique contents... importing someone else's RSS feed to create content really isn't the nicest thing to do in my honest opinion. My blog's link is in my siggy.

I prefer writing posts myself. Other methods will produce duplicate content which i think is not good if you have a long term blogging plans. It is better to have original quality content on a blog if you want some success from blogging.

In my humble opinion I believe you are handicapping your blog's revenue by not using your own content. Just in my experience.
