Try to get Traffic thru direct links, social media etc... see you SEO activity not only to get top10 Positions in the serps... with the toolbar Google can see which Link are klicked by users and which not... with the right links you get direct Traffic and Google will rated these Links better...
If you have the money to spend you should do adwords first and see which keywords convert. When you know which keywords convert your SEO will work better.
On page seo, off page seo, many options to choose from, monitor your traffic. On page seo should already be included in the building process, not afterwards, the design and layout and everything needs to involve seo.
