Yes, there are lots of new features. But I will wait till final version is released. There are only few or no modules ready for drupal 7, so I don' have any plan to give it try right now.
Looks good, I probably won't upgrade for a few months until I know all the modules I use are working without too many problems. I'll probably install to check it out though, but not on working sites
I was just reading this on the cck module page- Part of CCK is moving to core in the Drupal 7 version. The API to create and manage fields is now in core and this module, CCK, has been ported to Drupal 7 to serve as the UI for fields in core. http://drupal.org/project/cck
CCK as core is a very interesting development - I hope the upgrade is an easy process. I don't even like patching really...
I have been playing with 7 a little bit, I like it.. Still lots of bugs but nice for Alpha-1. I like the new admin layouts much nicer. I think this will be a good one.
It can be the greatest version ever, but if the module developers dont make compatible versions, it wont matter.
I've read a few pelages on some of the most popular modules that they will be compatible with 7. So hopefully they keep on it. But I am still leary to use to many modules on any of the CMS in case they never make it to the new versions. Drupal module devlopers seem fairly good about it, Wordpress not so much.
I've only just moved up to 6... Big improvement from 5, so I'm sticking there until I see a need (which won't be until it is better supported with modules anyway).
