I have submitted my site to Yahoo, Google and Ask and want to check where i rang for a range of keywords. How can i check this without doing it manually?
Well, at Google it is a violation of their Webmaster Guidelines and Terms of Service to use an automated program to check rankings. However, many do using software like IBP (iBusinessPromoter) or Web Position Gold. If Google detects you pulling rankings via an automated program, they will typically ban your entire block of IPs for 24 hrs. This means if you're using a company IP then likely your entire company will not be able to access Google during this time. So if you use software to pull rankings, be sure that it has some human emulation function that allows you to enter a minimum time between searches and adds some random number of seconds to that between each search. Checking manually at Google is not hard. Set your preferences to show 100 results per page. Then search for the keyword. Then CTRL-F (Find on page) and entery your domain name (example.com). Press next... Now look at the browser scrollbar on the right. If it 50% of the way down you rank around 50th. If you don't find on Page 1 of SERPs go to page 2. Now you're looking at 101-200. Repeat and rinse til you find your domain in the SERPs. It's a little tougher at other engines where you can't set your preferences to 100 results per page.
you can use some free online tool but doing it manually is more accurate.. to do it more easily you can set google search preferences to 100 sites per search.. then find your domain.
Aside from searching it manually in google, you can also check your keyword rankings in different data centers to compare their results.
We do not recommend self-checking, all the programs for the automatic verification made a large number of queries to search engines, and all the browser to expressly forbid. May happen that the earnings penalty. Site statistics is enough to see what is provided for the visit, and then select the time for you to the 2nd 3. 4. side and the guras the first. To me the best results.
Manual search same as ealier mentioned in the post is the perfect method to check.. but yest do not check it frequently .. you should check your position report every week..
You could plug in Webmaster Central to your site and upload a sitemap, then after a while you should be able to see how you rank for certain keywords. Please remember that rankings are highly volatile and whilst you may be on the first page when served by a query from one data center you may be on the second page when served by another data center.
i suggest to go for manual search in search engine, tools dont give exact result. also u need to check your business service keywords so based on that u can find its rank.
