is transferring domains more expensive than registring new ones?
And also if the domain has subdomains what happen to those ones?
    Thanks :)

In some cases, transferring a domain is cheaper if the domain-register has promotional things.

Even if the domain has sub-domains, it doesn't matter. It would be considered as a single domain.

You don't add subdomains with your domain registrar, you do it with the webhost. The nameservers and WHOIS should stay the same.

    Transfers are almost always cheaper.

the domain will retain all its properties like nameservers, contact information etc unless you explicitly change it..its only the Registrar and the Expiry date that changes when you transfer..also, transfers are generally cheaper than new registrations..

They are about the same price. transferring yur domain from one registrar to another will not affect your subdomains.

A lot of registers have cheap transfers, around $6.95 to $7.50, they include Godaddy, MyDomain.com, Name.com and Dotster.
