    1. A Subscription ID is what you need to tell amazon that you're an AWS developer and have permission to access Amazon's product database with your ASM script. To start, go to Amazon AWS page, create an Aws account and follow the lead to get your Access Key Identifiers.

    2.
is clearly enough defined in the readme file
    3. Read here to have a better understanding of how ASM uses Amazon's SearchIndex (SI) and BrowseNode values.

    Hope this helps.

Your AWSAccessKeyId should be a random combination of 20 alphanumeric characters, like so ABCDEFGHIJK123456789

I am assuming here that you have not created your AWS account yet.

An AWS account is not an Amazon Associate account and you need both of these to be able to run your ASM script, first as a developer (for using a script to access Amazon's product database and secondly as an Associate so to receive referral fees on products sold through your site(s).

There are two different IDs needed to use ASM2. Follow the links provided by dinodino. You need to sign up for two differnt accounts to get the IDs.

The Associates ID is used to register user clicks and your sales. It is used to keep track of your commissions. It does not allow you to access Amazon data.

The Subscription ID and AWS Access Key are devloper IDs. They allow you to send requests to Amazon's product database. Without one of these IDs, you cannot query the database. It identifies who you are and grants access. A subscription ID is the old version. The new version and the one you should use if you set up a new AWS developer account is the AWS Access Key. You use one or the other with ASM2--don't use both. The developer IDs have nothing to do with recording sales or commissions.

    Hi dinodino! :D

    hi donald,

Once you have registered for the AWS account and access the page, you will find towards the top right hand of the page a button called "Your Web Service Account". Hover your mouse over this button and it will display a list which contains, among others, a "View Access Key Identifiers" link. Click on this link and you will be taken to the page where your AWS Access Key is displayed.

Hope you find it this time, do let us know!

So I am going to stick to what I got right now and planing if things go well to switch to http://www.ghostscripter.com/amazon_shop.php which probably be easiest for me to set-up. thanks again , dinodino your site was very helpful.
