I signed up for twitter about a week ago, just because of all the hype. I know im kinda late into the game. But I saw something today that kinda got me thinking. While looking at the public timeline, I saw a website is entering users into a contest for Itunes gift certificates when they become friends (twitter.com/musiclovr). But my question is, what does that do for the company? I mean, how does signing up friends via twitter benefit the them? I know there are some marketing opportunities with twitter but I just dont see how to take advantage of them. Secondly, I would like to know if any of you have seen any cool marketing promos using twitter? As you can see, Im kinda a noob... so any ideas would be a great help.
