What's happen if i buy .de domain if i live in america?

    What's happen if i buy .de domain if i live in america?

    I wanted to buy a .de domain but i'm not a european.

    is this the same thing with co.uk domain name?

    Then Germany will come over here and take you to live there in a prison camp FOREVER! It happen to me twice!!

    Umm... people/companies do it, they might not want you to do it. I've never heard of anything happening if you do. I guess some might be tight when you fill out a forum.. maybe someone else can help more. else try contacting them!

    You're OK. EU/DE residency is not required for .de domains. This is one of the reasons why they became so popular.

    However, .de is somewhat different from .co.uk because it asks for a local contact, which is not a problem. All registrars (e.g. GoDaddy, EuroDns, etc.) automatically provide that info at no cost.

    I dont agree with this statement.. ICANN rules do not restrict a user from buying a .de domain if country/location or nationality of a person is something else.

    Hi, i tried to buy .de or .co.uk with namecheap but they don't allow me to buy, i got a refund right after the purshase with no domain.

    There are no geographical restrictions on .co.uk registrations, so I can't understand why they wouldn't let you register the domain.
