What's google's position on copied content that has no author's rights?

    I've seen and had sites that do ok with copied content but it definitely doesn't do as well. I had blogs with lots of unique posts and some copied posts and they never seem to do as well.

    well i dont mean just copied, I mean the content that does not have any owners-- like an old book or something
