I know some expert advocate creating really good landing page so you can do proper analytics. But linking directly to product page simply reduce the purchasing steps for shoppers.

Currently all my campaigns goes directly to affiliate product pages. By not doing landing pages, what are the good and bad side about having landing pages?

    - If another affiliate were to advertise with the same landing page (which it would be if you're both directly linking to the merchant) then only one of you will have your ad shown ...

... of course, if there's several affiliates then most of you would be dissappointed, eh?

    - Without cloaking your affiliate link, it's possible for unscrupulous guys to hijack your affiliate link and take the commission for themselves when they purchase the product.

    - erm, that's all I can think of because I need a cuppa tea ... :)
