Since I'm not ranked in Google and for some reason was dropped from the rankings in Yahoo recently most of my traffic has been coming from MSN. Not great numbers, but about 4k uniques a day from MSN for my main site. Well this is the case. For about the past week or so MSN has not had an updated cache version of my page (or either page in the top 10 for that specific keyword). It usually has an updated cache version about 1 or 2 days old... are they possibly updating something.....
I see al my traffic from msn too. I just could not believe what people are searching. My site is new and not yet ranked in google or yahoo. So all my traffic is from msn. Msn indexed my site very quickly and i am ranking very high for some keywords. I hope they are not updating something
I have noticed some major serp movement in MSN over recent times, so perhaps they are in the middle of doing an update, or approaching one. Then again could just be a small tweak in the algorithm. I have found MSN to be a bit jumpy with your site if you are new ranking with them, ie within the first 4-6 weeks of listing highly in their index. Then it tends to smooth out a bit. Heck even with old sites the serps can be a bit all over the place. Brad
I noticed today some big chenges in serps. For some sites I lost many rankings in MSN. Anybody else seeing the same ?
amazingly a created a brand new website less then a week ago and am getting top msn rankings on a ton of search terms....i wonder why msn is so quick to index and rank pages where yahoo and google are much slower..
WTF??? rankings plummetted today on MSN -- lost between 1 and 9 places on my major keywords (which were all ranking #1/#2)! hopefully this is just a temporary fluctuation during an update.
Some sites went up but I have one site that was doing awesome, mostly from the Ad Coop. Now it isn't doing so well for many keywords (top 3 to 100+) while others are still at #1. Have they maybe reduced their emphasis on "link text"?
I can see it coming everyday to a new site but still a search for the URL shows no results .Could be an update in algo or the index . Regards Jeet
It's a bit of a mess today "as it looked when our crawler examined the site on 04/02/2006" Msn seems to know what our page will look like before I do. I've noticed when searching for "domain" the cache is newer than site:domain Something hasn't propagated fully. Anyone seeing any cache issues?
Also noticing that the home page is the only page that is effected by the drop out on the serps. It's the only page that is in cache limbo. Interior pages are ranking normal or better today.
I'm actually seeing that too. There was a only a slight interior page serp drop at the start of the week, but the home page took most of the hit.
