If that's true then we can expect a lot of threads about "Why didn't my pr get updated?" On this forum. People care about PR too much.
What i have seen is a few minor updates over the last 4-5 months but no big update. I think Google want webmaster not to focus on PR but instead building quality content and getting more traffic. I don't think PR is dead but its not as important as it once was.
As far as PR is concerned... Google has not made big changes with it since April 10. but in July Google did small updations for blog and news portals.... Apart from this.. Webmaster panel is active and keeping updating about the website... I think, on this New Year Eve, Google will be updating Page Rank for all around the WWW. If we talk about PR updation then google always update PR quarterly in a year. so few days remaining for the same cheers
People keep saying that, about google wanting everyone to forget about pagerank and concentrate on other things, but by keeping silent on the whole matter, by keeping the pagerank indicator in the toolbar, and by making minor "updates" here and there to a tiny handful of pages, they've done more and more to do the exact opposite. If they actually did anything since April, everyone could have moved on by now. Instead we've got everyone basing the worth of sites on a year or more old value.
"Basically we update Toolbar PageRank regularly, but if you are not seeing changes for your URLs, it's very possible that this is normal. This feature is not turned off. Given the way PageRank is created and the scale at which it is shown, it's possible that you might not see changes in the Toolbar. Also keep in mind that PageRank is a URL-based metric, so it would not be your "site" which has a specific PageRank, but rather a particular URL on your site. In some situations, this can lead to confusion, for example if your site changes canonicalization from www to non-www, or from https:// to http://, etc. If you feel that this might have happened in the past, the best solution is to make sure that your site sticks to your preferred URLs using the usual canonicalization methods." OK, so despite all the work I've done this past year, my sites get no change at all in PageRank and it's normal? Well, that's certainly encouraging! How nifty! So, according to Google, my PR0 site is in the same category as sites that have been penalized and brought down from PR4 and PR5 to PR0. Guess there's not much we can do about it. Google is the 800 pound gorilla. And people aren't about to give up their allegiance to Google anytime soon...
i think next pr update end of December and first of jan so keep it up and acquire good and high pr site to give you backlink
Guess not... google wins... I give up... I don't know why I wasted time on this... Pr truly is meaningless
It's not dificult to get PR. All you need are links. But off course, you don't need PR to have a great website, you just need traffic
